12th International folklore festival Veliko Tarnovo 2009

The 12th edition of the international folklore festival Veliko Tarnovo 2009 will take place between July 18th – August 1st.

Participants from 14 other countries will join the festival. Martinique, Japan, Venezuela, Mexico, Uzbekistan are among this year’s foreign participants.

Five ensembles will represent Bulgaria.

This folklore festival is the only such in Bulgaria to be recognized by the International Council of the Folklore and Traditional Arts department of UNESCO.

The festival has been a mainstay since 1998.
